being bad

i am teaching myself how to spin yarn.  so far it looks like lumpy, ugly clumps of animal hair, rather than soft, shiny, squishy fiber you want to wear on your body right now.  but i'm keepin' on keepin' on, 'cause i heard that devin once said "you have to be bad at something before you can be good at it," and that seems like pretty okay wisdom to me.
