warm.

it is fifty-five degrees and sunny in lincoln, nebraska, on the day after christmas. in a moment i will be outside walking for two hours, just for the sake of walking, but only because my bike is not downtown with me. i would love to be biking today.

the air smells like wet dirt, which i associate with growing things, even though nothing can be growing today. tomorrow it will be 22 and snowing.

i am sitting next to a woman who is visiting here from denver. she says that denver is always like this--snowy one day, but 70 degrees and sunny the next. i think maybe i could be okay with that.

i miss the sun so much when he's away.

Bend is similar - Snow, then sun, then snow, then sun. Sometimes we have both simultaneously! I love that. We've had solid snow for about 10 days now with only a couple afternoon breaks, and everyone says that's very unusual.

But yeah - an average of 300 days of sun a year makes for a pleasant climate. :)

I think the universe gave you a delightful Christmas present. :)
