On World Poverty
This is not about pity. It's more about passion. Pity sees suffering and wants to ease the pain; passion sees injustice and wants to settle the score. Pity implores the powerful to pay attention; passion warns them about what will happen if they don't. The risk of pity is that it kills with kindness; the promise of passion is that it builds on the hope that the poor are fully capable of helping themselves if given the chance.

i needed this
i thought of you when i read it, after our talk last night. it's from the issue with Bono on the cover. :)
I like that.
Erika is really into Product(Red) and that movement.
Bono makes a comment that stuck with me from the (RED)website that it's not a "cause" that he is trying to work for but an "emergency".
sorry, couldn't resist not adding this quote:
"As I said, this is an emergency. And in these dangerous times, how we in the West respond is an opportunity to show what we stand for, as well as what we stand against. If we're successful, we will not only transform millions of people's lives, we'll transform the way these people see us... and in turn, the world in which we live".
From Bono of course. :)
